The Lanark and Carluke Choral Union are delighted to announce that our soprano soloist in our Spring Concert taking place on Friday 28 April, featuring Faure’s Requiem and Franck’s Panis Angelicus, is Chloe Lees – wife of our accompanist Liam.
Chloe practised with us on Friday 21 April and it was wonderful to hear her singing with us for the first time in the Panis Angelicus. Please do book your tickets ASAP to make sure you hear this outstanding classical singer.
Chloe is an American Soprano who is in her final year of study to be an opera singer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Christina Dunwoodie. She recently performed in the Conservatoire’s Opera Scenes Concert as Adele in Die Fledermaus (Strauss) and Nanetta in Falstaff (Verdi). She is currently a part of the opera chorus of Die Fledermaus and is working towards a large recital in May. Chloe is a Cantor at a Roman Catholic Church and a private tutor of voice. While at the Governor’s School for the Arts in Virginia she performed the roles of the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Katisha in The Mikado (Gilbert and Sullivan), and The Witch in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck). This summer she will be playing Erste Knabe in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Berlin Opera Academy.
